Course Description:

Target Audience: Secondary Teachers and all reading Coaches needing reading endorsement who have completed part A of this course. Competencies one, two and part A are prerequisites to this course. Secondary Teachers and reading coaches will recieve priority in registration.

Participants will learn varying forms of assessment and understand the role of assessment in guiding reading instruction and instructional decision-making.

Each section is six weeks. Take time to preview the course. You can withdraw before you post your first assignment and the district is not charged. If you start a course and fail to complete within the time frame on more than one course, you will not have access to the Beacon online courses.

Non-OCPS employees, OCPS non-instructional personnel, and substitute teachers, will need to make arrangements to pay for the cost of this course($100) before the start date by submitting a check made out to Orange County Public Schools to Jean Washburn at the ELC 7th floor.
   Elementary teachers need to wait until ten days before the class starts to register. (price: $0.00)
